Vitamin C for prevention from Corona Virus

3 min read

Inadequate Vitamin C intake is a worldwide phenomenon that can be easily addressed. A high dose of Vitamin C is a powerful anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-cancer treatment protocol. Even if you don’t have any of the ailments, you can still use it to reduce your internal oxidative stress and your body’s real-time need for antioxidants.

Viral infection increases oxidative stress and further damages the lung barrier function while also increasing inflammation. Blood tests can confirm the increased hsCRp marker of inflammation and oxidative stress.

Vitamin C is an essential element of the antioxidant system. But the human body doesn’t produce it. Vitamin C deficiency leads to a condition called scurvy. Early symptoms of Vitamin C deficiency include lethargy, a general feeling of being unwell, tiredness/exhaustion and, later, shortness of breath, bone pain, muscle pain, skin sores, dry mouth, dry eyes, and emotional problems. Late stages lead to medical conditions such as jaundice, edema, fever, and convulsions.

Chemotherapy is the cause of major oxidative damage throughout the body, often leading to depleted levels of the vitamin.

Most deaths from Corona virus are reportedly caused by pneumonia. For more than 80 years now, Vitamin C has been known to really benefit pneumonia patients. It lowers fever and reduces pain in pneumonia patients, helps restore the normal pulmonary function in patients with lung abscess, bronchopneumonia, and purulent bronchitis.

The objective is to decrease the oxidative stress with a large dose of antioxidants, without waiting for vaccines and drugs. Nutritional and natural therapies are still being ignored by modern medicine.

Your body keeps small reserves of Vitamin C available for increased demand. But, when you are sick, it quickly gets depleted. Our body’s Vitamin C absorption and use are proportional to the extent of sickness. A healthy person can take about 4-15gm of Vitamin C in a day (24 hours) without the need/urgency to defecate, while a sick person can tolerate 10-20 times more (i.e.,100-200gms/day). No one has diarrhea willingly. However, the condition does provide clear and instant insights about your body’s internal functioning.

Find out your body’s threshold of Vitamin C (titration to bowel tolerance)

  • Take 2-3gm(1tsp) of Vitamin C every 2 hours mixed in about 240 ml of water (about 12-18 gm on the 1st day).
  • Your body uses up Vitamin C every 2 hours, when it needs to be replenished.
  • If you reach bowel tolerance test by 24 hours, reduce the quantity by 20% (this maybe after 2 days, one week or several weeks)
  • After reducing 20%, continue the dose until you reach bowel tolerance; then reduce the quantity by 15% and so on.
  • It works the opposite way: the healthier you become the lower your tolerance for Vitamin C. 10-15gm /day or less is considered healthy.

Sources of Vitamin C are Indian gooseberry (Amla) is the richest source, while guava, pineapple, citrus fruits (lemon, sweet lime, orange, malta), strawberries, cherries, berries (all varieties), and the kiwi fruit also have Vitamin C in abundance.
